• Lead can affect children's brains and developing nervous systems, which in turn lowers IQ levels, causes learning disabilities, and promotes behavioral problems.
• Most frequent form of exposure is lead found in dust. Other ways include contact with lead in soil or paint chips. Unfortunately, lead dust can be invisible.
• Until 1978, more than 38,000,000 homes had lead based paint in them.
• Lead dust is created by disturbing the lead based paint which can be very hazardous to your health.
• Adults exposed to lead can get high blood pressure or even hypertension. Even worse is that pregnant women exposed to lead can contaminate their fetus with the hazardous material. 
• The most common ways of lead entering your body is through ingestion or inhalation.

• If your home was built before 1940, there is an 87% chance there is lead present.
• Between the years 1940 and 1960, you have a 69% chance.
• From 1960 to 1978 there is a 24% chance you have lead in your home.
